Reporting Guildlines
A person who has cause to believe that a child’s physical or mental health or welfare has been adversely affected by abuse or neglect by any person shall immediately make a report as required by law. Family Code 261.101 (a)
Policy FFG
“If a professional has cause to believe that child has been or may be abused or neglected or is a victim of indecency with a child, as described in Penal Code 21.11 and the person has cause to believe that the child has been abused as defined by Family Code 261.001 that person shall make a report as prescribed above not later that 48 hours after the hour the professional first suspects that the child has been or may be abused or neglected or a victim of indecency with a child as described in Penal Code 21.11. A professional may not delegate to or rely on another person to make the report. Family Code 261.101 (b)

Identity of reporter is confidential

Immunity for reporter unless reporter acted in bad faith with malice or is the abuse perpetrator
Potential consequence of not reporting is teaching certificate revocation.
