Thank you for your patience and trust as we continue to support the efforts being made by our local and state health authorities to reduce the spread of the COVID-19 virus. As many of you are aware, the Texas Education Agency continues to release guidelines on how school districts should reopen their schools for the 2020-2021 school year. The TEA guidelines include protocols for instruction, health & safety, child nutrition, assessment, and many other important variables that will determine the best way to prevent the spread of COVID-19 while providing high-quality learning. As of now, SWISD will remain in Phase 1 of its re-entry plan. Based on these guidelines, Southwest ISD has developed its 5-Point Re-entry Plan for the school year, and as of now, SWISD will remain in Phase 1 of its re-entry plan until further notice.

SWISD’s 5-Point Re-entry Plan explains the District’s protocols for a safe and high-quality learning environment. This overview explains the District's actions around prevention, social distancing, incident response, student support, remote learning options, and contingency planning. Though our current environment ever changing, we want to ensure we have a flexible plan for our families, teachers & staff. This is an active document that may evolve as we continue to cautiously monitor the COVID-19 spread. This document will be available to our school community through our website and shared through our communication channels.
