Title I, Part "A" (Private Non-Profit)
Program
Southwest ISD is part of the Shared Services Arrangement (SSA) Private Non-Profit schools with Region 20. This is an agreement to provide services for private, non-profit schools that enroll Southwest ISD students eligible for Title I funds. The SSA provider determines the equitable services for the students and teachers under this provision and assures that these services are available and monitored . [P.L. 110-107, Section 1120(a)(1); 5142(a)(1); and 9501(a)(1)]. Services from the public to the non-public schools could also include staff development in the area served and parental involvement activities.
Services are provided to non-public school students in accordance with Title 1 law. Educational services and arrangements for eligible students in non-public schools shall be equal to expenditures for children enrolled in the public schools of the local education agency.
