SWISD Unified Sports Track Teams Advances to Area Meet

The Southwest ISD Unified Sports program is a testament to the power of inclusion and camaraderie, where athletes of all ability levels come together on the same playing field not only to compete but also to celebrate the joy of sport and the triumph of the human spirit. Bringing together individuals of all abilities, Unified Sports transcends the boundaries of traditional athletics, fostering an environment where teamwork, respect, and friendship thrive.

The Unified Sports Track Team would like to thank Coach Wells, Coach Hester, Coach Cadena, and Coach Saldana for all their dedication to our student athletes. The team would also like to recognize both the Special Education and the Athletic Department for all of their help in the background.

The team moves on to the Area Meet held at Southwest High School Spring Sports Complex on Monday, April 8th, at 5 pm. The events will flow in the following order:

4x100 Relay

Field Events (Shot Put/Long Jump)

Following the Area Meet, the team will go on the road to compete in the Region UIL Track Meet at Texas A&M Kingsville on Friday, April 12th.
