Purpose |
The purpose of the Southwest ISD Hearing Office is to ensure a fair and impartial platform when considering student disciplinary concerns and possible changes in placement.

Dr. Yolanda Hernández-Segura Dr. Yolanda Hernández-Segura is the Hearing Officer for Southwest Independent School District. She is responsible for conducting discipline hearings for students who have violated the District Student Code of Conduct. She is also responsible for the District’s Non-Traditional enrollments. In her 34 years of service, Dr. Y. Hernández-Segura has held various administrative and teaching positions at Southwest ISD as well as in our area community college. Dr. Y. Hernández-Segura joined Southwest ISD in 1995 as an ELAR teacher teaching Freshman to Senior grade levels. Prior to that, Dr. Y.Hernández-Segura worked for Laredo ISD from 1988 to 1994 as a bilingual and English teacher. Dr. Y. Hernández-Segura earned an Associate of Arts in 1987 from Laredo Jr. College. Bachelor of Arts in 1988 from Laredo State University; Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education in 1990 from Laredo State University; Masters of Arts in English in 1992 from Texas A&M International University and her Doctor of Education in Education Leadership in 2015 from Texas A&M University – Kingsville. |
