The Southwest ISD Aquatic Center is an athletic training facility for SWISD high school water polo, swimming, and diving programs. In addition, we are also home to several club sports: Alamo Area Aquatics Association, SWAT Diving, and Water Polo. The facility hosts competitions year-round for UIL, USA Swimming, and more. The Southwest ISD Aquatic Center offers a Learn-to-Swim program to elementary students enrolled in Southwest ISD.
Mission Statement:
The Southwest ISD Aquatics Program will seek to grow the programs of swimming, diving, and water polo. Programs will focus on water safety, give a basic introduction to swimming to elementary students, serve the community, train athletes to achieve their personal athletic goals, inspire them to be an integral part of the community and instill skills to help them be successful in their future endeavors.

Where is the pool located?
The Southwest ISD Aquatic Center is located next to Christa McAuliffe Middle School. The address is 9290 SW Loop 410, San Antonio, TX. 78242.
 
How big is the pool? 
The Southwest ISD Aquatic Center (built in August '22) includes two separate pools. One pool is for competitive swimming, diving, and water polo and the second is for instructional and recreational use. The more than 54,000 square-foot facility has stadium seating for 735 spectators. The competitive pool can transform into an eight-lane 50-meter course or by using the bulkheads can be a two – eight-lane 25-yard course with additional lanes for various uses. The depth of the competitive pool is 7 feet to 13 feet. This includes two 1-meter and one 3-meter maxi-flex springboard for diving. The instructional pool is a 4-lane 25-yard course at 3 ½ to 4 ½ feet deep.
 
What is the pool used for?
The Southwest ISD Aquatic Center is used for Southwest ISD programs as well as swimming, diving, and water polo competitions.
 
When can I swim laps?
We will have open swim and lap swim available to our community. You can find our times on the community webpage.
 
What are the pool rules?
Southwest ISD Aquatic Center Rules:
•        No swimming without a lifeguard on duty
•        No glass/ceramic containers allowed
•        No gum in the pool 
•        Walk at all times in the pool area 
•        Feet first entry in shallow water (No Diving)
•        Diving blocks used for competitive swimming only
•        Only Coast Guard approved flotation devices permitted 
•        Children under 5 years of age must stay with an adult in pool 
•        Children 14 and under must not use pool without adult supervision
•        All children must be potty trained (Diapers are prohibited in pool)
•        Must wear a swimsuit (cutoff/frayed shorts prohibited)
•        No color cotton tees in the pool (white or gray cotton tees or dry fit/water shirts only) 
•        Lap lane lines are for lap swimmers only 
•        Swimming under bulkheads is prohibited
•        Extended breath-holding activities are prohibited
•        Instructions from the lifeguards must be obeyed at all times
•        No animals are allowed in the pool
