For Southwest High School junior Leah Ojeda, the magic of theater happens behind the scenes. As a member of Dragon Drama's technical theater program, she helps bring productions to life through set design, lighting, sound, and artistic details that shape the audience experience.

"Technical theater is something that is very overlooked," Leah said. "Every painting, sound cue, and lighting choice helps create the mood and bring the show to life."

Leah encourages students who love art but may not want to perform on stage to consider technical theater, saying it provides opportunities for creativity, leadership, and personal growth.

Southwest High School senior Joseph Herrera is making history as the first male captain of the Dragonfire Dance Team. A longtime goal of his, this leadership role reflects years of dedication, hard work, and passion for dance.

Herrera credits Dragonfire's welcoming culture for his success, describing the team as a close-knit family where students can be themselves and support one another. As captain, he hopes to inspire others to pursue their passions without limitations and show that leadership opportunities are available to anyone willing to put in the work.
