The Board of Trustees unanimously approved the naming of the district's 12th elementary campus as the “Juan M. Alvarado Elementary School.” This recognition pays homage to the exceptional service and enduring commitment of Juan Alvarado, a beloved figure in the Southwest ISD community.
The Superintendent's Advisory Council met for their second meeting of the year. The council comprises SWHS, SWLHS, and CAST STEM high school student representatives.
This Thursday and Friday Dragon Drama will be presenting the onstage version of Clue at 7:00 p.m. at the Southwest High School Auditorium. Tickets are available online at gofan.co for $8.00 or at the door cash for $10. Come out and see the all the fun and mystery!
The 22nd annual Blue Santa Parade will take place on Saturday December 9. The parade there will also have a festival with food, music, and games for the community to enjoy in addition to Blue Santa who will also be arriving at Miller's Pond Community Center following the parade. Southwest Legacy High School will also providing free haircuts. We look forward to celebrating this festive event!
Kens 5 and Credit Human visited Elm Creek Elementary and presented Mary Niño, Elementary Teacher of the Year, a check for $1,000 and awarded her as an Excel Award winner!
