Meet Southwest Legacy High School's 2023-2024 Salutatorian Emily Castaneda. Even though she can be quiet and shy, Emily is an academic powerhouse. As a leader, Emily has been an active Southwest Legacy National Honor Society member for three years and has served as parliamentarian and historian. As a student, Emily has a quiet, disarming disposition that makes her a great collaborative teacher and peer. She is always ready and willing to help and learn. She knows how to listen and then respond, which is a skill that requires great patience and maturity. Emily will be taking all of these wonderful characteristics with her to Texas A&M University-San Antonio this fall and majoring in Biology. Emily's ultimate goal is to become an anesthesiologist.
