Southwest Independent School District is thrilled to announce it will once again offer significant support to students and their families for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year. During the June 12th SWISD Board Meeting, the Board of Trustees voted unanimously to provide all required school supplies at no cost to parents for registered elementary and middle school students.
This initiative includes customized, prepackaged school supply kits designed specifically from teacher supply lists to ensure each student has exactly what they need. By removing financial barriers to education, we aim to ensure that every student has the tools necessary to succeed in their academic journey.
"We understand that back-to-school expenses can add up, and we want to relieve some of that stress for our families," said Jeanette Ball, Superintendent of Southwest ISD. "With this initiative, parents can focus on preparing their children for a successful academic year without the added burden of school supply costs."
To take advantage of this opportunity, parents simply need to register their children for the 2024-2025 school year. The total cost for the purchase of these school supply kits will be $225,000.
Southwest ISD is committed to providing a supportive and enriching educational environment, and we are excited to take this step in supporting our students and families.
