Board Spotlight Series: Jose Diaz

As we continue our monthly Board Spotlight Series with Jose Diaz, we are highlighting his personal story and contributions to our community.

Jose Diaz was born in 1965 and raised on a small horse ranch in San Antonio, where his father worked as a professional horse trainer. His father, originally from Jalisco, Mexico, and his mother, a San Antonio native, raised Diaz alongside his two siblings. Horse training was a family business, and his father founded one of the first Charro organizations in the city. From an early age, Diaz shared his father’s passion for horses and went on to compete as a Bronc Rider, eventually winning a state championship. Mr. Diaz attended St. John Bosco Catholic School and John Jay High School. Mr. Diaz married in 1999, and in 2000, he and his wife moved into the Southwest ISD Community.
