Friday’s are typically geared towards watching our beloved Football Titans or Dragons competing under the Friday Night Lights. At Bob Hope, there was a different kind of competition for all grades at the 2024 Science Fair on Friday. Science projects were on display in the cafeteria from the minds of kindergarteners through 5th grade. Judges we circling the displays Friday morning, which will lead to a winner later in the day. 5th grader Anthony Sepulveda entered his science project, which was to find out which paper towel brand was the most absorbent. After three attempts of three different brands, the future Resnik Jet was able to determine that the Bounty brand paper towels were the most absorbent with a total of 99ML, in comparison to the Viva brand at 75ML and 88 brands at 48ML. Anthony says he enjoyed his project and loves reading and math.
Like Anthony, fellow 5th grader Angela Garibay loves reading and math subjects this school year. Angela’s project was about how oil spills affect the environment. Angela was able to determine both water and oil remain in their own state and do not mix into one no matter how rigorous you try to mix bot
Both the 5th-grade All-Stars and the other Science Fair contestants are shining bright at Bob Hope. Snippets wish Angela and Anthony good luck at the science fair and the rest of their fifth-grade year. Thanks for visiting us. Go, All-Stars! As always, we are Southwest.
