The SWISD Police Department is excited to announce the launch of their K9 unit. After months of preparation and training, Officer Bonnie Casarez had been selected as the K9 handler.
Today, they welcomed the newest member to their family, Ranger. SWPD held a contest across the district for the naming of their new K9. The chosen winner was Ms. Treviño's 5th grade class from Kriewald Road School of the Arts. Students, staff, board trustees, and Southwest Education Board members gathered to celebrate this exciting milestone.
A special Thank you to the Southwest ISD Education Foundation for their $20,000 contribution to SWPD for this initiative.
