Employee of the Month: Dawn Friesenhahn

Today, we surprised CAST STEM High School nurse Ms. Friesenhahn as the February Employee of the Month. She was nominated for consistently going above and beyond to support students, families, and staff on campus and across the district. Her dedication is evident in how she steps up wherever and whenever needed, always showing compassion and care. Below is more on why she was nominated:

"One recent example of her helpfulness was when a parent reached out for help with their injured child—who does not attend our campus but has a sibling who does. Since the nurse assigned to that campus had already left for the day, Nurse Friesenhahn stayed after hours, making sure the family got the care and guidance they needed. Her kindness, communication skills, and calm leadership make her an asset to the team. She’s always ready to help in tough situations. Her ability to remain calm under pressure and take a leadership role in crisis situations creates a sense of trust and safety within our school community. As a key member of our student support team, she shares valuable insights, particularly about students facing mental health challenges. Her proactive approach and commitment to student well-being make her an indispensable part of our team and leave a lasting difference for everyone she serves."

Congratulations, and thank you for all that you do, Nurse Friesenhahn.
