This past weekend, the SWISD Penguin Project was honored with the MAGNA 2025 Silver Award in Atlanta at the National School Boards Association conference! Dr. Jeanette Ball, our Board of Trustees, and several Penguin Project team members were there to accept the award.
The program was also featured in the American School Board Journal, which highlighted how the Penguin Project gives neurodiverse students a chance to shine on stage by pairing them with student mentors. This amazing partnership helps build confidence, friendships, and a sense of belonging for everyone involved.
Now in its third year, the Penguin Project continues to bring our community together while making theater more inclusive and empowering.
Congratulations to everyone who makes this program such a success!
