25-26 SWISD Compensation Plan Approved

The Southwest Independent School District (SWISD) Board of Trustees unanimously approved the 2025-2026 compensation plan package for teachers and staff during the regular board meeting on Tuesday, July 15, 2025. In compliance with Texas House Bill 2, teachers with 3 to 4 years of experience will receive a $2,500 raise, and teachers with 5 or more years of experience will receive a $5,000 raise. The plan also includes a 2% raise for all other full-time employees. The compensation plan shows that SWISD and our Board of Trustees are dedicated to offering competitive pay to attract and keep the best educators and staff.

This comprehensive package represents an investment of approximately $5.2 million in our staff. Of that amount, $3.9 million will be funded through the Teacher Retention Allotment, and an additional $540,000 will come from the Support Service Allotment, both established under House Bill 2. We are proud that Southwest ISD continues to be recognized as one of the highest-paying school districts in Bexar County. Our staff's commitment to our students, families, and one another is what makes SWISD an incredible place to work and grow.
