Just as Team USA’s Winter Olympians are competing for gold, silver, and bronze in Milan this week, the SWISD Communications team was aiming high at the 2026 Texas School Public Relations Association (TSPRA) annual conference and awards ceremony. Their work from the past school year was recognized amongst school districts' communications teams throughout the state at the TSPRA Star Awards. The team brought home three Gold Star Awards and five Silver Star Awards, a strong showing for the group that works year-round to highlight the people, programs, and moments that make SWISD shine.
In addition to receiving awards, SWISD Communications Director of Multimedia Operations Roger Campos, Community Relations Specialist Brandon Medina, and Media Production Supervisor Carlos Rodriguez presented a session titled “Creating a Culture of Storytellers.” The presentation focused on building cohesive brand experiences, crafting meaningful narratives, sharing stories with purpose, and using multimedia effectively in school district communications.
