FREE STEM Summer Camps at St. Philip's College - Southwest Campus

2026 Summer will be filled with exciting STEM engagement activities at St. Philip's College-Southwest Campus! We are inviting all middle and high school students to our no-cost summer STEM camps. 

Students are encouraged to apply and enjoy the summer of learning, networking, and fun.  Below is more information about the free STEM summer camp!

 

STEM SUMMER CAMP PROGRAM:

  • Cost: FREE!
  • Located at St. Philip’s College-Southwest Campus, Building 1, room C153
  • STEM based
  • 3 weeks long (Monday – Thursday)
  • 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
  • Breakfast & Lunch provided by the SAFB (Breakfast served from 8 – 8:50 a.m.)
  • Each camps includes two Field Trips 
  • Industry Day networking event
  • SAMSA and MESA Showcase on the last days of camps to present student projects to family & friends

SAMSA

Requirements:

  • 11-15 year olds
  • Dates: June 8, 2026 - June 25, 2026
  • Complete Application
  • 1 Recommendation Letters
  • Essay

*If students are not able to receive the recommendation letters from their STEM teachers before the end of the school year, we accept the following:

    • History/Social Studies Teacher
    • Coach
    • Band/Music Instructor
    • Outside Program/Organization Leader
    • Church

Curriculum:

    • Engineering
    • Rocketry
    • Chemistry
    • Medical Sciences
    • Manufacturing  
    • Life Sciences  

o   Field trips:  STEM related

o   Industry Day networking event 

    • SAMSA Showcase 6-25-2026 to present student projects to family & friends

MESA

Requirements:

  • 6th-12th Grade & (2026 high school graduates are welcome to apply)
  • Dates: July 7, 2026 - July 23, 2026
  • Complete Application
  • 1  Recommendation Letter

*If students are not able to receive the recommendation letters from their STEM teachers before the end of the school year, we accept the following:

    • History/Social Studies Teacher
    • Coach
    • Band/Music Instructor
    • Outside Program/Organization Leader
    • Church

Curriculum:

  • Engineering- Learn about and fly drones
  • Robotics: coding/programming & Artificial Intelligence 
  • Chemistry/Biology/Physics- students conduct advanced experiments and gain critical thinking skills 
  • Mathematics 
  • Financial Literacy 
  • Career Readiness  learn how to prep: (resume/CV/ professional emails/cover letters)
  • Field trips:  STEM related
  • Industry Day networking event
  • MESA Showcase 7-23-2026 to present student projects to family & friends
