Southwest High School senior Serenity Diaz is helping lead the way during the Southwest HS Strength and Conditioning Summer Camp. For Serenity, the offseason is about more than conditioning and drills — it’s about bringing the Dragons girls' soccer team together and building the chemistry needed for a successful season.
After last year’s playoff run ended in the second round, Serenity says the team is using that early exit as motivation. With a new season on the horizon, the Dragons are focused on improving and taking the next step as a program.
As one of the team’s seniors, Serenity understands the importance of setting the tone for her teammates. She believes leading by example and maintaining a strong sense of unity will be key to the team’s success both on and off the field.
When she’s not working toward her soccer goals, Serenity is equally focused on academics. She hopes to maintain a high GPA during her senior year while preparing for college, where she plans to pursue a degree in petroleum engineering.
For Serenity, this summer is all about putting in the work now so the Dragons are ready when the season starts. As a senior leader, she’s focused on helping her team stay connected, compete harder, and make the most of the season ahead.
