Bond 2023 Overview

The SWISD Board of Trustees approved the recommendation to call a $250,000,000 bond election on May 6.  The bond is designed to ensure an investment of safety and security at every campus. It also addresses rapid growth in the Southwest ISD community by providing needed space to accommodate the influx of new students. Additionally, the bond will fund the modernization and renovation of existing campuses and facilities.
Bond Overview
 
Safety Upgrades at All Existing Campuses:
• Access Control Upgrades
• Surveillance Camera Upgrades
• Perimeter Fencing Changes (6-foot Wrought Iron or Non-Scalable Fencing)
• Door Hardware Upgrades/Protective Film on Windows

Renovations to Sustain Existing Campuses for the Future:

• Southwest Legacy HS Additions and Renovations

• CAST STEM HS Renovations

• Bob Hope ES Addition

• Southwest ES Renovations (Including HVAC Replacement)

• Elm Creek ES Renovations

• Kriewald Road School of the Arts Renovations

• Southwest Stadium Renovations (Proposition B)

New Additions to Meet Growing Needs:

• New Elementary School No. 12

• New Elementary School No. 13

• Air Conditioned Bus Purchases

• Professional Development/Student Center/Central Offices
