This morning, the Firstmark Foundation awarded Ms. Delicia Mendez- Villegas, from Sky Harbor Elementary, a check for $1000. Ms. Mendez- Villegas was chosen as one of the 2023-2024 grant recipients. The grant will allow her to fund the creation of a Makerspace in her 3rd grade classroom. This will allow students to engage in hands on projects. Students will use this space to design, create, and produce items that will be sold as part of the project based learning initiatives. Proceeds from the sell will be donated to a foundation that the students will choose at a later date.
