2026-2027 OPEN ENROLLMENT FOR MEDICAL IS HERE!

MANDATORY MEDICAL OPEN ENROLLMENT:  June 10, 2026 – August 15, 2026

Southwest ISD is changing its medical coverage providers. Beginning with the upcoming plan year, medical coverage will transition from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas to Evry Health, with Next Level providing supplemental primary and preventive care services.

Due to this change in carriers, Open Enrollment is mandatory for all employees. Every employee must either:

  • Waive medical coverage, or 
  • Elect the medical plan that best meets their healthcare needs. 

Employees who do not complete Open Enrollment will not have their medical coverage elections processed for the new plan year.

Please note that this is your annual opportunity to enroll in a health plan without the need for a qualifying life event.  Medical coverage is available to all eligible employees and their eligible dependents. Any enrollments completed during this enrollment period will become effective on September 1, 2026.

The First Financial Benefit Online Enrollment System will be available to all eligible employees via the Internet 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, during the enrollment period.

We will be hosting mandatory virtual informational meetings from June 10 through July 8.

  • Walk through the new plan features 
  • Review plan structures, deductibles, and copays 
  • Answer any questions you may have

Manage Ongoing Care (Transition of Care)

If you are currently undergoing treatment, pregnant, or receiving post-operative care, you may need to request Transition of Care coverage. This program allows eligible members to temporarily continue seeing an out-of-network provider at in-network benefit levels while transitioning to the new network.

Important: Contact your Benefits Team as soon as possible to determine eligibility and begin the application process.

Need Assistance? Attend an In-Person Enrollment Session

Open enrollment can sometimes feel complicated. Representatives from Evry Medical, Next Level, and Brown & Brown will be available to help simplify the process.  Attend one of the in-person sessions on the dates listed on your postcard. During these sessions, representatives will:

 

  • Provide detailed information about the health plans being offered 
  • Share tips for navigating your benefit selections 
  • Answer questions about coverage and enrollment options 
  • Help you make informed decisions during open enrollment 

These sessions are designed to ensure you understand your options and feel confident about your benefit choices.

ACTION REQUIRED 

 

All employees must either enroll in or decline medical coverage through the FFGA portal by August 15, 2026.  The online enrollment system will be available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week throughout the enrollment period and can be accessed via the internet.  FFGA will send step-by-step login instructions to employees by text message. Please watch for this message and complete your enrollment or declination before the deadline of August 15, 2026
