At Southwest Independent School District (SWISD), we are dedicated to providing our students with nutritious and delicious meals that support their growth, learning, and overall well-being. Our Child Nutrition Services team works tirelessly to ensure that every student has access to balanced meals in a welcoming and safe environment.

Get Involved
We welcome parents and community members to get involved with our nutrition programs. Whether you have feedback, want to volunteer, or have questions about our services, we’d love to hear from you.

Thank you for partnering with us to support the health and well-being of our students. Together, we can ensure that every child has the nutrition they need to thrive.

The Child Nutrition Department is responsible for purchasing, cooking, and serving meals at all SWISD campuses.  We are proud to be able to offer FREE breakfast and lunch to all students enrolled in SWISD, regardless of eligibility status, due to all of our campuses falling under the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP).  We have over 150 employees, many of whom grew up, attended school, and still reside in the district!  Please browse our website if you'd like to learn more about our department programs, services, and operations.

Mayor visit to Sun Valley Elementary
Mayor Ron Nirenberg came out to celebrate our Breakfast In the Classroom (BIC) program during School Lunch Hero Day in May of 2024. Sun Valley Elementary, along with our other 10 elementary campuses have done an excellent job of implementing our BIC program, and have greatly increased the meals they are serving. With the help of Dairy MAX, we are able to provide breakfast to more of our students, fueling their brains and bodies for success. Check out a video from the event by clicking Here
