Advanced Academics

The Advanced Academics department provides unique programs that nurture the abilities of high performing students while fostering parent and community involvement through Gifted and Talented, Advanced Placement (AP), Honors and Dual Credit classes. 

Southwest ISD is committed to ensuring that every student is ready for success after high school by ensuring that they participate from Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade in entertaining, rigorous and authentic learning experiences that also allow them to explore and prepare for college and/or career options.  Teachers, school and district staff, parents and community members work together to ensure that students achieve their full potential as students and leaders of the 21st century, offering them the following programs and services through advanced academics:  Honors, Dual Credit, Advanced Placement, OnRamps and GT.
